Hillman boy dies in dirt bike/ tractor crash in Morrison County

A 14-year-old Hillman boy is dead following a dirt bike and tractor accident April 23, in LeighTownship of Morrison County.

According to Sheriff Shawn Larsen, the Morrison County Sheriff’s Office received a report of the accident at approximately 4:19 p.m.

Deputies responded to the scene and learned that a Kawasaki dirt bike, driven by 14-year-old Damian Hebler, struck the back of an International tractor, driven by 23-year-old Kylee Hoheisel of Hillman. Both vehicles were traveling west on 173rd St., east of 350th Ave.

Hebler was found deceased on scene. Hoheisel was not injured.

The sheriff’s office reports that a helmet was located near Hebler’s body. “We believe that Damian was wearing his helmet, but we are still investigating whether or not it came off as a result of the accident. We will know more after the final autopsy reports are received from the Ramsey County Medical Examiner’s Office.”

The Morrison County Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by the Minnesota State Patrol, Pierz Fire Department, Hillman Area Response Team and Gold Cross Ambulance.
