Timothy Roline

Timothy Donn Roline,

57, of Bemidji, died, Feb. 5,

2012 at home after a short battle with cancer.

Memorial services were held Feb. 11 at the United

Methodist Church in Bemidji, with Rev. Gay Albers officiating.

Arrangements were with the Cease Family Funeral Home of Bemidji.

Tim was born in Bertha, Sept. 2, 1954 to Donald and Betty (Daschler) Roline. He grew up in Staples graduating with the Class of 1972. After high school,

Tim attended Staples Technical School earning a certifi cate in Graphic Arts. In

May of 1974, he began his career in newspaper printing at Lake’s Publishing in

Hawley. Tim transferred within the company to the

Bemidji Pioneer in September of 1977. He worked there until May of 2010. He was the manager of production department for the last 22 years of his career.

Tim married in 1978 and had two children, Heather and Travis. He divorced in

2003. In 2008, he married

Marcia (Yow) Bellefy.

Tim was active in Bemidji Area Boy Scouts. He was an Assistant Scout

Master from 1999-2007 and advisor for the Paul Bunyan Order of the Arrow from 2002-2006. In 2005, he received the Silver Scout Award. He remained active in scouting. Tim was a member of the Eagles Club.

He worked with Bemidji Area Habitat for Humanity.

He was an active member of Bemidji United Methodist Church and earned the

BMW Recognition Award for Service to Church and

Community in 2007. Tim’s greatest desire in life was to help others.

On Sept. 15, 2007, Tim ran the Walker North

Country Half Marathon.

He enjoyed hiking, camping and learned to downhill ski at the age of 52.

He is survived by his wife; one daughter, Heather

(Carlos Perez) Roline, Albuquerque, N.M.; one son,

Travis Roline of Bemidji; Step-children: Jacob “Jake” Bellefy, Deer River;

Elizabeth Bellefy; Henry “Hank” Bellefy; two grandsons, parents, three brothers, Richard (Marilyn) of

Lakewood, Colo.; Mark

( Vicki) of Spring Valley, Wisc.; Kevin (Connie) Roline of Verndale; one sister,

Joy Berg of Edina; uncles, aunts, nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Jalmer and Stella

Roline; maternal grandparents, Ernest and Lily

Daschler; and a paternal aunt, Marilyn Ziegenhagen.
